Since 1972, Berg has been engaged in the production of tailor-made industrial chillers and thermal management systems. Over the years, we have successfully delivered numerous industrial refrigeration systems to customers in over 50 countries across a diverse range of industries such as mining, transportation, chemical and petrochemical, manufacturing, building and construction, food and beverage, national defense, natural resources, and recreational sports, among others.
In 2022, Berg had the opportunity to design a custom closed-loop, central chilling system for Deciem, a skincare product manufacturer, to supply and recirculate water to and from the existing 19 kettle mixers that make lotions.
The closed-loop, central chilling system featured one 192TR Packaged remote air-cooled indoor chiller with R513A (Opteon XP10) refrigerant, one chiller tank system, four semi-hermetic screw compressors, four Braised plate Evaporators, four High Pressure receivers, two Air-Cooled Condensers (dual circuited, shipped loose), Electrical Control Panel, 7” Touch Screen HMI, six Centrifugal Pumps (two process pumps, four chiller pumps), one Stainless Steel Reservoir Tank. Our services also included installation, start-up and commissioning, freight to site, and factory testing.
The system was assembled and connected to Berg’s test bench. An electrical thermal load has been applied, and the process fluid has been bought down to temperature. The system was running in these conditions and has been fine-tuned in factory settings. Chillers are routinely factory tested underload to verify functionality, control logic, wiring, etc. All safety controls factory set and checked for operation to ensure long lasting trouble-free operation.
