In 2021, Berg did a lifecycle replacement of major ice rink equipment at the Meadowvale Four Rinks arena, a municipal ice rink centre located in Mississauga. The arena’s ammonia refrigeration system was outdated and needed an upgrade, as well as the arena’s mechanical and electrical rooms. The scope of supply included the replacement of the arena’s previous shell and tube ice rink chiller with a built-up, Alfa Laval plate and frame ammonia chiller with U-turn assembly, Danfoss motorized expansion valve and level probe, a new evaporative condenser with VFD fan control, new HPR, and the conversion of the arena compressor jacket cooling of new condenser to an auxiliary glycol coil. The arena’s mechanical room upgrades were also upgraded by adding a new ammonia room ventilation control panel, a new 2 speed exhaust fan, and the installation of new exterior double doors and vestibule door.  

The electrical room was also upgraded with the removal of old condensers initially located on the roof of the electrical room. It was replaced with a new condenser on a new stand next to the electrical room to prevent water leakage in the electrical room, reducing the risk of injury and accidents.
