In 2020, Berg had the opportunity to design and supply a dry cooler module for CCAT Observatory, tailored for outdoor environments, high-altitude conditions, and dusty surroundings. Each unit in this module is capable of providing 150KW of cooling capacity. It is designed to supply a 55-58°F (12.7-14.4°C) 50% Dowfrost solution to the telescope at a flow rate of 80 GPM, accommodating 4 compressors and 5 cabinets. The system’s design also allows for the seamless integration of additional fluid coolers, with a potential total capacity expansion up to 450kW.
