Berg Blown Film Coolers (BFC)

In 2023, Berg Chilling Systems supplied Hosokawa-Alpine with a custom Blown Film Cooler (BFC) system to optimize cooling processes in their manufacturing operations. The BFC units were engineered to deliver precise temperature control and efficient cooling while maintaining reliability and ease of operation.

Berg’s Tailored Solution: The Blown Film Cooler solution included:

High-Performance Components:
- Siemens 2-way 24 VDC valve with controller and sensor isolation valves.
- Insulated stainless steel enclosure and coil with a 5°F approach.
- Water inlet/outlet temperature gauges, outlet air temperature gauge, and water flow indication.
Efficient Blowers:
- Units equipped with TEFC premium efficiency motors, available in 50 HP, 30 HP, and 15 HP configurations.
Integrated Design:
- Components mounted on a common frame with vibration pads for durability.
- NEMA panel with terminal strip and RTD for seamless operation.
Additional Features:
- Bottom drain for condensate management.

The advanced BFC system provided Hosokawa-Alpine with precise temperature regulation and efficient cooling for their manufacturing process. The durable design ensures long-term reliability, while the energy-efficient blowers optimize operational performance and reduce energy consumption.
